Looking for a water park trip that doesn’t feel chaotic or overly “theme park-ish”? SoundWaves at Gaylord Opryland in Nashville is hands down one of the most impressive water attractions we’ve experienced — and it’s just a couple of hours from North Alabama!

It’s part indoor, part outdoor, and 100% resort-style. The best part? It’s only open to guests staying onsite, which means it's clean, crowd-controlled, and totally stress-free.

We stayed at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and had the best time. From gorgeous hotel views to dining options to exploring the indoor gardens, it was just as much fun for the adults as it was for the kids.

Indoor Water Park (Open Year-Round):

We visited in summer and got to enjoy both — truly the best of both worlds!

  • ✅ You must book a SoundWaves Package to get access — day passes are not available to the public.

  • 🩴 Bring water shoes for the kids — the indoor areas can be slippery.

  • 🍕 Plenty of food options on site, including poolside service and easy grab-and-go eats.

  • 🧳 Pack swimsuits and swim diapers in a separate bag to access them before check-in.

  • 🧼 Towels and life jackets are included.

  • 🛏️ Pro tip: Ask for a room close to the SoundWaves entrance if staying overnight!
